Smooth, Sexy Lips - Keeping Your Lips Moist and Supple! by Wesley Timothy Greg

There have never been more lip care options than there are right now. The cosmetics industry is ever changing and nothing reflects that more than the sheer amount of different lip products that are available. It seems that every day "they" come up with something new to try.

Choosing the right lip product is really a matter of what your personal preference is. Each type of product has its own feel, staying power, texture, and benefits. What you choose will depend on your own needs and desired look.

Lip Balm
Perhaps the most basic product on this list is lip balm. It usually has no color, but contains moisturizing and soothing agents for dry or chapped lips. Some lip balms even contain sunscreen or pain relievers. They generally have a smooth, soft texture. Some have a hint of color.

Lip Gloss
Lip glosses come in all forms of color coverage, from very sheer to full-on color. Lip glosses are generally liquid, with an obvious glossy finish and very short wearing time. Lip glosses can come in metallic or frosty finishes, and many even have glitter in them. They can be worn alone or over another form of lip color, as in liner or lipstick.

Lip Liners
Lip liners come in the form of pencils and can either be thin or chunky. Some twist up, but most have to be sharpened. They all are intended to outline the lip with color. A lot of people outline first and then color in their entire lip with their liner. This provides a long lasting base for additional color, such as gloss or lipstick.

Lip Primer
Lip primer is like a base coat for your lips. It is designed to keep your lip color from bleeding outside your lip line. Colors range from clear to foundation-like tones. Primer may feel waxy.

Lipstick
Lipsticks are obviously usually packaged in stick form, but sometimes come in a small pot. They come in many different finishes, from matte to glossy, from glittery to creamy. They generally feel smooth and kind of waxy on your lips.

Lip Plumpers
Plumpers can be clear or colored, but all of them work by stimulating blood flow to the lips. This makes your lips appear more full and pouty. Lip plumpers generally feel like glosses and may make your lips tingly or sting a little.

Lip Stains
Lip stains are either contained in lipsticks or applied on their own. They provide far longer staying power than glosses or lipsticks. As the name implies, they actually stain the lips, rather than just staying on the surface of them. The color is generally liquid and painted on with a brush. Lip stains are usually very intense or bold colors, and are harder to find than most other lip products.

Lip Paints
Lip paints are even harder to find than lip stains. The texture is somewhere between liquid and lipstick. Lip paints have more color variety than lip stains. They last longer than lipstick, but are shorter lasting than stains.

Permanent Lipstick
Permanent lipstick is when people actually have color tattooed onto their lips. This is clearly a very serious step that requires some thought.
