Most Effective Exercise to Lose Weight and Burn Fat By Sally W.

We've been told, in one way or another that exercise can help loses weight and burn fat. However, which exercise is the most effective?

If you ask this question to a group of athletes from different sports, some will say jogging or running is the best exercise to lose weight and burn fat, and increase overall metabolism. While others will say weight training, walking, biking riding, aerobic, hiking, cross country skiing, etc. can do the same and increase metabolism more and sustain it for a longer period of time. The argument could go endless.

Whether you jog or walk, your body does not know what type of exercise derived. It really comes down to intensity and how much work you put in the workout. Is it true there are some exercises that burn more calories than others in the same amount of time but the outcome really depends on how hard you exert yourself and the amount of muscle mass in play. For example, suppose you like swimming and hate cross country skiing. With swimming, you would work at all your body muscles to swim as fast as you can. When you ski you might not work hard or push yourself as much as swimming. That would make swimming a much more effective way for you to exercise because you physically exert yourself with high intensity. When you work out with high intensity, you will lose weight and burn fat.

Hence, the best exercise to lose weight and burn fat is the exercise you enjoy doing most that gives you a really good workout.

The key to keep you motivated and dedicated cannot rely on one form of exercise. By doing so you might get bore and won't stick with it. Try to mix up a few exercises you like to do most and play it tough to get a good workout.

While exercise is important, a well balanced diet is crucial to maintain health and a sensible body weight. No single food group will provide all the nutrients for your body to be healthy. A diet that includes a variety of different food groups is most likely to provide all the essential nutrients you need.
